The big attraction of Rhodes is the beautiful beaches that surround the entire island. Rhodes hosts some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe , Entrance to all the beaches is free, but you will have to pay only if you rent a sun bed (7euro). Beds and umbrellas are available in all beaches; also there are a changing areas and showers. All the beaches of Rhodes offer these basic amenities. Rhodes except that hosts the best beaches in Greece (islands) like many European tourist resorts allows topless sunbathing on most of its beaches and even has one designated for nude sunbathing. Towards Ladiko, part of Faliraki beach, is a designated area for nudist sun-bathing. It is the only place on Rhodes where you may get an all over tan, entrance can only be gained by being naked yourself. Many beaches also fly a blue flag for cleanliness. But Rhodes beaches are not only for sun worshippers but also for those who enjoy sports in the water, jet skiing, banana rides, ringos, paragliding, pedalos, bungee jumping, waterslides, sky-surfing. The Mediterranean Sea is on the east coast and is much more pleasurable for swimming than the Aegean Sea which is on the west side of Rhodes . The west side of Rhodes tends to have a stronger wind and is preferred by windsurfers.
