Tour Suggestion 6: Rhodes Kids Tour

From your selected point, you'll be driven to the Old town (World Heritage Site), and to impressive and restored Palace of the Grand Masters (stop for pictures, the kids love's Knights stories, castles and old midlevel cities).

Then past the imposing buildings of the New town, you continue to the entrance of the old harbor, atop tall columns, stand the two bronze deer - characteristic landmarks of the island. Here, according to tradition, was the place where the famous Colossus of Rhodes , one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, once stood (stop pictures).

We continue to the Aquarium of Rhodes (operates as a Museum and Aquarium) for a short visit. Here the children can admire fish of different families, as well as sea turtles, octopus... In the Museum are also displayed exhibits such as various kinds of sharks and other fish, toothed whales, and Mediterranean monk seals.

Continuing up the hillside to Monte Smith (The Acropolis of Rhodes city), which overlooks the Old Town. Enjoy excellent views of the new and old town of Rhodes (stop pictures). Then we drive to the Temple of Apollo, and the restored Greek Stadium and the Greek Theatre (stop pictures, kids can run into the Old Stadium and feel the Ancient Greek athletic spirit). Then your journey to the "Rhodes Ostrich Farm" and Zoo Park will take you along a beautiful, 20km (14,3mi) drive on the west coast of the island, past picturesque little villages. This animal farm will delight both young and old. Here you'll have the opportunity to get a closer look at these feathered birds (Over 120 ostriches) living within a purely natural environment. As well as kinds of rare animals. For kids who are brave enough, the Camel ride will be pure excitement!

We continue our drive to the Valley of the Butterflies. This site is beautifully arranged with wooden bridges, from mid-June to mid-September thousands of multi-colored butterflies appear. We drive you to the upper gate, so you walk down the valley, (this way it�s easier for kids).

On the way back we drive from the west to the east coast and through Faliraki and Kalithea back to Rhodes Town . (The road passes through villages and densely wooded areas).

If you wish you may extend the tour for lunch, swimming, and water sports. Or for the Faliraki Water Park (the biggest in Europe ) for high adrenaline emotions!

Q: How long are the stops to visit the landmarks and take pictures? Will the kids have time to really look around?

A: The kids will have plenty of time to look around and take photos of the landmarks and we watch how the tour progresses at each landmark and adjust the tour accordingly.

Q: How much is the entrance fee in the Acropolis of Rhodes, the Aquarium, the Ostrich Farm, and the Valley of the Butterflies?

A: There is no entrance fee in the Acropolis of Rhodes, 5 euros per person in the Aquarium, 3 euros per person in the Ostrich Farm, and 5 euros per person in the Valley of the Butterflies.
